Voices of the Persecuted – Leading Speakers
George Marlin, author of the just published book entitled Persecution of Christians in the Middle East: A 21st Century Tragedy.
Bishop Gregory Mansour, Shepherd of the Maronite Catholic Diocese covering the Eastern half of the US. The Maronite Catholic Church originated in Lebanon, where it is still centered today. Bishop Mansour is a dedicated scholar and pastor to a large Maronite Catholic diaspora living in the U.S. A frequent visitor to the troubled parts of the Middle East and a respected scholar, he serves on the boards of several faith-based international relief organizations that work with persecuted and displaced people in the Near East; has a leadership role with the inter-denominational organization CAMECT (Christian Arab and Middle Eastern Churches Together); and serves on the board of numerous religious organizations.
Ecumenical Prayer Service: The evening will conclude with a short ecumenical prayer service for all those suffering persecution for their faith, and for all those who have died as a result with prayers offered by Catholic and non-Catholic clergy, including Evangelical, Mennonite and Orthdoox.
